Our 2011 trips in a nutshell:)

 I have been horrible about keeping our blog updated!! One of my New Year's resolutions is to be much better about that:) Our first trip in Germany was to Heidelberg. Since we didn't have our Acadia here yet, we had to take a bus and then a train to get there...We went with some friends of ours that moved here the same time as us from Iowa. They had been to Germany a few times before, so they were pretty familiar with everything:) Here are a few pics from that trip..

Our next trip was to this place called "Monkey Mountain" in Alsace, France. http://int.rendezvousenfrance.com/en/discover/montagne-des-singes-monkey-mountain
We went with 3 other families and we all had a blast feeding the monkeys. After that, we went to Strasbourg to do some sight seeing. Here are some pictures from that trip..

In October, Ben's cousin Melissa and her boyfriend Dan came to visit. Dan suprised Melissa by proposing to her on the bridge in Heidelberg!! We also went to the Black Forest with them. We had a great time with them and it was so nice to see some familiar Iowa faces:) Here are some of those pics..

Ah I forgot to post pics of our house in Germany! We were very lucky to have found a house as quickly as we did. We have some really nice German neighbors who we became friends with, and the school district we are in has the smallest school so we are happy with that. We have fun talking with our neighbors, as they teach us german and we teach them more english! The house has 5 bdr and 3 ba-although I only have a few pics taken:) Here they are..
